East Worldham is a village lying to the south-east of Alton on the Kingslay road. The main settlement is on high ground and includes the church, pub and several farms. As one travels away from Alton, the road drops down a steep hill and then levels out along Green Street. To the right can be seen a small hill rising out of the farm land. This has become known as 'King John's Hill' although, as will be seen, it would be more accurate to call it 'King Edward's Hill'.
