Elementary Endowed, enlarged in 1893-4 for 259 children; Charles Henry Beck,
master. The schoolroom was built in 1755 by the Rev G Holme DD for 12 poor children,
who were taught free, and was endowed by him with a rent-charge of £6
on certain land, and with the rent of three acres of land; in 1919 £800
of consols were purchased which now yields about £20.
