Cinders	Oh Buttons, have you seen my pa?
Buttons	He can't have gone off very far, I think he went to check his cash.
Cinders	The mean old thing, he's got a stash Of readies hidden safe away, But won't spend it on me today.
Fairy Godmother	Won't spend on you? You're not at all The girl I helped get to the ball!
Cinders	Don't give me that you soaked up tart, I s'pose you think you're pretty smart In changing rats to things so fast, But not for long - it didn't last.
Fairy Godmother	You thankless child!
Cinders	You drab old queen!
Buttons	Now ladies, please! Don't make a scene, We've got to start this wretched show.
Fairy Godmother	Well please yourself - I'll let you know!
